Pinarello Dogma XC: A Flame at the Paris 2024 Olympics
"Citius, altius, fortius."
Faster, higher, stronger.
The Olympic Games as a representation of elite athleticism.
Talent, artistry, and consecration.
An event that runs on exclusive tracks and preserves ancient magic.
Tom Pidcock and Pauline Ferrand-Prevot could tell you about it.
The race, the strength, and then the gold.
Both riding a flame, the Pinarello Dogma XC.
Pidcock, on the full-suspension model, won with dominance and pride over Victor Koretzky, showing an absolute determination to be number one. This marks his second Olympic gold in cross-country.
And then there’s Prevot, who, on the hardtail, finally achieved what had always eluded her, a gold medal at the Olympics. With that, she embarked on a new journey ("Now I want to win the Tour de France," she said).
The Pinarello Dogma XC, their flame, is not just a bicycle; it’s an extension of their adventurous spirit, a loyal companion in their most epic endeavors.
This bike, designed for cross-country competition, is developed with advanced technologies and innovative engineering solutions to deliver exceptional performance both uphill and on the most challenging descents.
Key Features:
Rear Triangle and Bottom Bracket: Extremely stiff, enhancing power transfer during pedaling. This is particularly noticeable in the hardtail versions, which feature an exclusive design for maximum efficiency.
Simple yet Progressive Kinematics: The bike has a simple yet progressive kinematic system that optimizes suspension travel and extension, adapting to the specific demands of each course.
Another distinctive feature is its asymmetrical design, patented with a reinforced left side to balance the higher forces on the drivetrain side. This improves speed and traction, while the asymmetry in the chainstays and seatstays enhances resistance to powerful accelerations typical of elite cross-country races.
The integrated cockpit reduces the overall weight of the bike and provides greater steering precision. The cables are fully integrated, and the headset includes a specific bearing with a 60° internal stop to prevent over-rotation of the handlebars.
The Pinarello Dogma XC is available in two versions:
Hardtail: designed for faster race circuits, offering extreme stiffness in the rear triangle and bottom bracket, making it highly responsive.
Full Suspension: for more demanding riders, this version features progressive kinematics that optimizes suspension. It is lightweight, agile, and provides exceptional handling on technical descents.
Technological innovations include the rear suspension system with integrated flexible stays, maximizing energy transfer during pedaling, and providing optimal compression/rebound in technical descents. The mixed system of bearings and bushings minimizes friction at pivot points, enhancing rear-end responsiveness and system longevity. The bike is designed with anti-squat and anti-rise considerations, making it excellent for both steep climbs and technical descents. It can accommodate shocks with different travel lengths, thanks to the adjustable mounting point under the top tube.
Pinarello Dogma XC represents the pinnacle of engineering and design for cross-country mountain bikes.
A true flame at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
