Ineos strikes again: third classic race for Pidcock

The start of the season wasn’t the brightest, but while everyone was waiting for Van der Poel, Ineos strikes back with Tom Pidcock riding the Dogma F to victory at the Amstel Gold Race. The British rider redeems himself after missing out by millimeters in the 2021 edition against Wout Van Aert, adding another Classic to his palmares following the Brabant Arrow and Strade Bianche. Completing the podium are Marc Hirschi (UAE Emirates) and Tiesij Benoot (Visma-Lease a Bike).

Pinarello, Colnago, and Cervelo lead the way, almost reestablishing the correct hierarchy in the global cycling aristocracy.

And they couldn’t have chosen a better stage than the Keutenberg, the wall of the day: it’s here that the three launch the decisive attack. Only Vansevenant remains in their wake, but he’ll have to surrender in the final sprint. For Pidcock, the “hunting season” has just begun: he’s aiming for the Ardennes triplet with the Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège
