She’s done it again—Elisa Balsamo lights up the international women’s cycling scene with another breathtaking performance. The Italian star claimed victory in a thrilling sprint at the 2025 edition of the prestigious Trofeo Alfredo Binda – Comune di Cittiglio, thrilling the crowds lining the course.
The race was marked by a relentless pace and numerous breakaway attempts, all of which were reeled in by the sprinters' teams. With the peloton still compact in the final kilometers, Balsamo unleashed a powerful and perfectly timed sprint on the final straight in Cittiglio, proving once again her incredible class and determination.
Joining the Italian champion on the podium were two top international talents: Dutch sprinter Lorena Wiebes in second place and rising Belgian star Shari Bossuyt in third.
“This win means so much to me,” Balsamo said after the race. “Winning here in Italy, in front of our home crowd, fills me with pride. It was a tough and hard-fought race, but my team did an incredible job, and I gave everything to repay their effort.”
